Far-Eastern and American Nurses Association of Great Lakes


Far Eastern & American Nurses Association (FANA) of Great Lakes has been established since 2004 with a mission of purpose of volunteerism at Health Fair at the local communities and has extended abroad by providing free Medical & Surgical Mission to indigent people. In addition, we provide educational opportunities and growth to our members by giving complimentary Educational Symposium held at the Detroit VA Medical Center Auditorium annually granting educational contact hours.

Following the formation in 2005, FANA has been approved and granted by the Federal IRS as a non-profit with tax exempt status as 501 © (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Any Contributions to FANA is deductible under section 170 of the Code. And, that the organization is also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under section 2055, 2106 or 2522 of the code. Under IRS advance ruling, the organization is classified as public charity (not a private foundation).

FANA is a unique professional organization with members from diversified ethnic groups such as (American, Black Hispanic and Asian Nurses) and not only nurses but now open to any health professional individuals like MD’s Nurse Practitioners, Health Tech/ Aides, Pharmacist, Retirees or any individuals that supports the common goals and missions of the organization.

Officers are all volunteers and public record has open policy. Funding of the missions and other charitable works relies on monetary donations from individuals, other organizations, corporations and memberships fees.
