Ammended ByLaw – 11/27/2009 for ratification at the general membership meeting
Article IV: MEMBERSHIP AND DUES
Section 1: Membership in the Association is priviledge and is contingent on compliance with requirements as specified in these Bylaws. Add: At least 50% of the members must be Nurses.
Section 2: Members shall be classified as Regular, Associate, Honorary, Lifetime.
ADD:
Section 2: Members shall be classified as Regular, Associate, Honorary, Lifetime, Lifetime Chartered (Reason – originally omitted)
A. Regular – Any professional registered nurse and nurse practitioner who are licensed to practice in the U.S. and/or any of their country of origin and has paid the required membership dues to the Association.
B. Associate – Any inactive or emeritus Professional Registered Nurse, any Licensed Practical Nurse, Nursing Students; and/or any healthcare worker(s), technicians who have paid the required membership dues to the Association.
DELETE:
B. Associate – Any inactive or emeritus Professional Registered Nurse … (Reason – just because you are retired, you can not become regular active member or run into office)
MUST BE READ AS:
B. Associate – Any physicians, allied health care and non-health care individuals who has paid the required membership dues to the Association (Reason – Individuals who support the mission and vision must not be discriminated on the membership)
C. Lifetime – All interested individual nurses who paid the required fees under membership
D. Lifetime Chartered – Any member who paid the initial $200.00 (two hundred dollars during the founding year of the association 2005).
ARTICLE V: OFFICERS AND DUTIES
Section 1: The elected officers of this Association shall be: President, President-elect, Secretary, Coressponding Secretary, Treasurer, Auditor, Business Manager, Assistant Business Manager, Public Relation Officer, and 8 Board Members.
DELETE: Assistant Business Manager, and 8 board members
MUST READ AS:
Section 1: The elected officers of this Association shall be: President, President-Elect, Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Treasurer, Auditor, Business Manager, Public Relation Officer, and 7 Board Members (Reason – it has not been followed and total numbers should be odd)
Section 2: The appointed officers of this Association shall be: Assistant Business Manager, “Assistant Business Manager” must be deleted and replaced with “Parliamentarian” (Reason – never has an Assistant Business Manage rbeen appointed and followed, but under Article XVI: Parliamentary Authority, it was indicated “…Parliamentarian may be appointed by the President as deemed necessary).
